5 families and only 2 keys meant that someone had to be at the house to let in anyone who returns from whatever activity. Today was my turn, I actually did not mind at all. The house was peaceful and I finally got some alone time before Mom would arrive with Matt, Rachel & Haiden...
As I walked about the quiet house, I seemed to soak in all the details of the place, the little havens I’d scoped out for myself... The spot just inside the door to park my beach stuff... The front windows where I could gaze at the sea... The back bedroom that no one wanted, but had 4 windows and a cross-breeze... Of course, the deck... In the kitchen, the only thing that interested me was the coffee pot!  All too soon the others would return, and so would the bustle and noise. But these moments were mine alone....
