Ok, we have everything in place (I hope
) and are ready to pick our Design team. We have not decided on a name for the team yet...thoughts are welcome. Here are the requirements/perks for team members.Design team 10 to 12 members 8 members are required to post 3 layouts and 3 cards/projects a month. 2 to 4 members are required to post 9 different cards a month. Each member will receive a $25 stipend per month (coupons are not valid on the stipend amount, but sale prices are) Stipends may not be accumulated, they must be used each month or they are lost. We will also be sending, with the monthly order, product we would like used (including new QK dies, new product, and older product) Basically, product we would like to highlight. Each team member may not receive the same product, or we may want to see many ways to use the same product. Each member will actively participate on the forum/message board. By actively, I mean have a daily presence on the board. We will have give aways, Q&A, and other fun games for our team members to be in charge of. We would like to build our community and want it to stay positive. There will be no negative comments about any layouts/cards as it takes bravery to post and we want to encourage newbies. Each member will, also, receive a 10% "discount" in the store. (not to be used with the monthly stipend) It will be issued in the form of a personal coupon and is not transferable to others. The 10% discount will additional to any sale prices! All items need to be posted in the gallery. Projects need to contain at least 80% of product we carry, or have used ink/tools that we carry to make the project. Ok that was the nitty gritty...we are having a contest to see who would like to join our team! 5 layouts/projects are required, or if applying for the card spots 12 different cards will be required. 2 layouts or 6 cards must be centered around the category "Spring". Entries need to be posted in the "Design Team Contest" section of the gallery. Just to clarify...do the layouts for the contest need to contain 80% product from the store, or is that just for the DT layouts?

I would prefer it if the contest layouts used mostly product that we carry, but it is not a requirement.
There have been some other questions also that I would like to try and address. First, we would love members from any country, and would work something out on the shipping cost for the $25 monthly stipend. Second, the 10% discount, members will receive, will apply to sale prices, but not to the $25 monthly stipend. Third, Please do not use companies that we can not sell. For example, Close to my Heart, Stampin' Up, etc. Thanks so much for trying out! We will have a great time. ![]() Heather

I have a couple more questions. Do the layouts have to be brand new for this contest? On a related note, are there stipulations as to where they can be posted (for example, could I post on my blog)? Thanks, and I apologize for having so many questions.

Questions are very welcome and great! Layouts you have shown on your blog are fine. That being said, I would prefer that they have not been posted on a competitors site. We are looking for talented, fun individuals to be on the team and I realize that some may be contributors to other boards. I will require team members to create layouts/cards exclusive to our site (of course we would release projects for publishing in magazines) Was that clear as mud? I am running on very little sleep

I am new to this and still don't quite understand.
1- How do you post the layouts, Can you take pictures of the layouts and send a picture? 2- Is there any set theme? 3- Is a two page layout considered two pages towards the 8-9 required per month? (if you win) Off the subject of the contest - Is ther some where in this forum where people just post their pages for others to see? |

Or you can click on "My Albums" in the upper left-hand corner, create an album, and then choose that option when you are uploading the photos. In Heather's original post (just scroll down to the bottom of this thread) she goes into detail about the requirements for the contest. If you are entering layouts, at least two need to have the theme "Spring". If you are entering cards, at least six have to have the "Spring" theme. Also, the nine projects a month are if you are designing only cards. For the rest of the DT, it will be a mix of 3 layouts and 3 cards. Most places count a two-page spread as one layout, but Heather will be able to give the definitive answer on that one. I hope this helps a little.

As far as two page spreads go, they will be counted as one, as only 3 layouts and 3 cards/projects (like mini albums, ATC holders, etc) are required per month. You can take pictures of your layouts and post them in the gallery. The only bad part about posting that way is it makes them look rounded/slightly distorted. But we can tell that it is the way it was posted and not really warped so don't worry about it.We are looking forward to seeing everyone's projects! Good luck and have fun! Heather
